Which batteries work with Intelligent Octopus Flux?
Octopus lists four battery brands it can control on Intelligent Octopus Flux: GivEnergy, Enphase, SolarEdge and Tesla Powerwall. Octopus also sells Fox ESS systems for the tariff, but Fox ESS is missing from its FAQ list. Checked against Octopus's own pages on 26 September 2026.

What you need
- A smart meter sending half-hourly readings.
- Solar panels and a home battery Octopus can connect to.
- Both your import and export tariffs with Octopus.
- An iPhone (iOS 15 or later) or Android phone (version 7 or later).
- Only one battery can be connected, and currently only one device per property, so not a battery and an EV.
Octopus also says batteries it controls are kept at a minimum of 20%. That figure is dated October 2023 on its FAQ and “may vary throughout the year”.
Battery not on the list?
Standard Octopus Flux works with any solar and battery system, according to Octopus, but you set the battery's charge and discharge times yourself. What if my battery isn't on the list?
You can use the standard Octopus Flux tariff, which Octopus says works with all solar and battery systems. You schedule the battery's charging and discharging yourself.
Can I connect two batteries, or a battery and an EV?
No. Octopus says only one battery can be connected to Intelligent Octopus Flux, and currently only one device can be registered per property.
